庾建设教授简介:广州大学教授,博士生导师。庾建设教授是应用微分方程领域中的著名中青年专家,是国家百千万人才工程第一、二层次人选,是国家杰出青年基金获得者,主持过2项国家自然科学基金重点项目,曾多次担任国家自然科学基金委员会学科组评委,是多项国际学术会议学术委员主席和多个国际学术期刊的编委。
报告题目:Modelling Wolbachia insfection dynamics in mosquitoes via
impulsive difference equations
内容摘要:Mathematical models making use of difference equations had played an instrumental role in determining the release threshold for Wolbachia fixation in nonover lapping populations in laboratory. Inspired by its great potential to eliminate the mosquito-borne diseases. Our question is: If a batch of Wolbachia-infected mosquitoes are released in a laboratory cage, how will the infection frequency in the cage change? Intuitively, we might expect that the frequency always increases. This is, to our surprise, not always the case. Our analysis depends on impulsive difference equations and shows that there is a threshold frequency, denoted by x**,such that the monotonicity of the infected frequency is closely associated with the relation between the previous frequency and x**..
